Intern Diaries: A Workshop Experience at TWC Innovations

On the 11th of October 2023, all TWC Innovations employees gathered at Shangri-La Co-nnect in Colombo for an eventful day of learning and team building. The mission for the day was to introduce the Sales Suite Products: Scheduler, SFA, and Omni-Com to the new members of the team while fostering camaraderie and embracing the company culture. Here's a candid recount of our day.

I arrived at the location nervously, not knowing anyone in person. However, the nervousness did not last a minute as everyone was met with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We got to know each other through an interactive and fun icebreaker, Two Truths and One Lie, where some forgot the truths and lies about themselves, including myself. The seven interns from different departments mingled, eager to dive into the day's activities from the icebreaker itself.

The morning focused on understanding the Sales Suite products one by one. Our seniors, Ishini, Ravindu, Dinuka, and Navinda, led the sessions about the three products with clarity and simplicity, making the complex applications and concepts easily understandable. They encouraged questions and participation, making it a productive and engaging learning experience for each one of us. One thing that stood out about this workshop was its departure from typical boring lectures. The friendly atmosphere and open culture encouraged interaction, keeping us engaged throughout the morning. Because of that, we naturally mingled and connected with each other, cracking jokes and having fun, as the culture at TWC Innovations made it easy for us to bond, and we quickly felt at home.

After a delicious pizza lunch, we had a fun photoshoot. The serious “professional” photographs turned into laughter-filled candids, and we had a great time. Following the lunch break and the photo session, we applied our knowledge gained in the morning to a group activity. Divided into two teams, we collaborated actively and enthusiastically presented our learnings and new ideas about the Sales Suite products. It was a testament to the team spirit at TWC Innovations.

We rounded off the day with a delightful tea-time spread, providing another opportunity to socialize and unwind. As the day came to an end, all the interns, including me, left with a better understanding of the Sales Suite products, new friends, and a deeper appreciation for TWC Innovations' culture. This workshop was a reflection of the company's ethos, emphasizing growth, connections, and collaboration.

If there's one takeaway from this workshop, it's that learning can be exciting and enjoyable in the right environment. TWC Innovations offers an enriching experience that goes beyond work and taps into camaraderie and shared moments.
